This is the current best guess at the vehicle that will shuttle the lunar base and the astronauts between Earth and Moon. Some details need work, such as the attachment points for
the ascent vehicle, while some may not go on until the second mission, such as the solar panels.The international Artemis Project proposes to put people on the moon privately using technology such as this without costing the taxpayer a bean. The image below is based on the "Ringworld" envisioned by Larry Niven, which was constructed by a planet's occupants when their sun ran low. The worlds
now exist on the inside of the ring, and shadow squares within it provide the day/night cycle. This image won a Compuserve "Graphic of The Month" award. |
